A whole two months of co-living in Casa Ubuntu has come to an end(for now).
2ヶ月に及ぶスペイン北部でのコミュニティ暮らし、一旦終了（日本語は後半に）

I jumped into this new experimental community by intuition, and had no idea I would be staying for so long… what happened 😆

There were a LOT going on in the house, community, and my personal life all the time and honestly it wasn’t at all easy!

But there was always someone around to have a brief chat or share a meal, and at times have deep conversations with… and this place became my home 🫶

I’ll probably post more photos of the highlights soon, but it’s really the everyday little things that are so beautiful and special to me. I’m already missing the kitchen and hallway 😭

One of my loving teachers, Satish’s book “Earth Pilgrim” was with me the whole time, and I’m surprised to see how this picture looks so much like our valley ⛰️

I’ll share some of his words that seem perfect now for me and perhaps Ubuntu:

When a pilgrim comes to a place or meets a person, there is no judgement. There is no liking or disliking, there is no rejection, there is no criticism. There is only acceptance. And out of this acceptance grows harmony.

Love is to love diversity, and diversity is not division. Love is to love unity, and unity is not uniformity. We are all one, and we are all different. Unity and diversity complement each other.

シェアハウスやコミュニティ、エコビレッジ的な暮らしというのは毎日が試練だらけなのかもしれない。

お互いの悩みを聞き合ったり、こんなのやってられないよって思うこともときにはあったり、ただ日常の些細な瞬間を共有して泣いたり笑ったり、本当にいろいろあった。しかも私にとっては外国だし！

でも苦しかったこともひっくるめてこの2ヶ月の経験が愛おしく、ありがたく、たくさんの学びがあり、乗り越えてよかった😌また少し逞しくなったかな？？

サティシュの本にもあったように、評価や拒絶、批判ではなく受け入れることで、そこから調和が生まれること。そして多様性を愛することを心に留め、これからも歩み続けたいと思う。

後半は週末行った洞窟の博物館みたいなところの写真で、本物のかなり緻密なレプリカらしい。18,000年も前のネアンデルタール人の作品だったかな？？

それと、エルカミーノ（スペイン巡礼）で人々がよく訪れる中世の街🏰

Madrid, the start of my journey in Spain and some of the places I encountered during my walks

Although the Schumacher program and meeting many new people and reunions were all very fruitful, my days in the UK were overwhelming and I was totally burnt out…

So a few days alone in a city I first visited was a breather that I really needed! I spent two and a half days mostly walking around and going to coffee shops and eating pinchos 😆

And honestly… the heat and sun after spending almost 2 weeks in the UK felt so good ☀️ (the weather was fluctuating everyday and I can’t handle that well lol)

I didn’t really have Madrid on my bucket list (Spain itself, I did for sure!), but the opportunity to visit came to me, and looking back at these photos I think I do like it there ❤️

もうすぐ2ヶ月も前になるスペインのマドリッドを初めて訪れたときの写真、まずは好きだった場所やちょっとした風景編。

濃厚なシューマッハプログラムやトットネス、ロンドンでの新たな出会いなどを経てすっかり消耗していたので、大都会で1人ひたすら徘徊してカフェを巡る時間は必要でした！

実はスペイン本土？メインランドに足を踏み入れたのはこれが初で（去年1日だけ訪れたラスパルマスはスペインの島でほぼアフリカ）、高校時代から憧れて行ってみたい国だったのにあまりに行く機会を逃してしまったからか、今回あっさり上陸🤣

しかもマドリッドから入る？っていう気もするけど笑、これも不思議なご縁ということで🇪🇸

The last song for my belly dance show, followed by amazing body percussion + a cappella etc by the young Korean group Nomad Village, and even a local multi talented musician. What a show!!

The song “Esta Vida (This Life)” conveys what I think is the essence of life. I love the simplicity and the joy it brings!

So grateful for all the people that made this happen and was there for me. It’s been an emotional roller coaster recently and some days have been rough, but yes, life is beautiful for sure ❤️

先日の私のベリーダンスショー最後の曲と、そのあとに続いた若手韓国人グループと地元のアーティストによるパフォーマンス！

いわゆるベリーダンスで言うところのディスコタイムにしたこの曲は、スペイン語で「朝の匂いやコーヒーの味が好きだ。ときには悲しいことや辛いこともあるけど、でも、あーなんて人生は美しいんだろう！」と歌っている（超ざっくりまとめ）。

私も人生の本質はそれだと思っていて、ここ最近は特にいろいろあってしんどいときもあるけど……

この曲との出会いもだし、このショーの実現を支えてくれたみんなに感謝でいっぱいです☺️

I used this for my students a long time ago and also last year on Peace Boat, and thought it would be nice to show quite a typical kind of belly dance here too.

Maybe this song is getting too “kawaii” for me so it might be the last time to use it though hahaha 😆

スペインでの記念すべき初ベリーダンスパフォーマンス、2曲目はむかーし生徒さんの振付で使って、去年もピースボートで使った曲。

This marks the first time that I dance in Spain, and what an amazing setting it was with so many people, a full PA system with a musician and even stage lights, my manager and friends etc etc 😍

The song is from a performance I did in 2020, but this time without a veil and some updates and improvising. I loved the whole ambience here ✨

Belly dance show 💃♫🇪🇸

Living in a remote village without the usual entertainment and distractions around seems to make you realize what is truly important in your life.

I naturally started dancing a lot at home and then the opportunity to perform at a nearby restaurant popped up during a casual conversation!

I wasn’t expecting this at all, I didn’t even bring dance wear or props with me this time, and I have less than a week to prepare 😂

But I’m enjoying the prepping, and If it wasn’t for the people helping me out all the time here, this wouldn’t have been possible 🫶

Maybe this place is where your inner call awakens and your dreams come true 😆💫??

いわゆる娯楽的なものや刺激がほぼない田舎の村に滞在しているからか、私の人生のフェーズなのか、特に最初の数週間は自然と内省することが多く……

そのおかげでいかにダンスが私にとって大切かに改めて気付かされ、家でいつも踊っていたら、今度は近くのレストランで踊る機会を与えられた✨

考えてみれば、こんなふうに「踊ってみる？」なんて気軽に声をかけてもらえたことは他の場所であっただろうか？？あ、インドのコミュニティ内ではあったか笑

当日まで1週間を切っていたというピースボート以上の無茶振りに笑いつつも、できることをやってとにかく楽しみます💃

実はこの村で少しずつ私の諦めかけていた夢が叶いそうな予感があり、離れられなくなるのでは？という恐怖に近い感情も芽生えている昨今……

This was a song I used for my belly dance students a long time ago, and we had the fan veils as the prop… so a bit different from dancing with a sarong in a limited space 😅

But it was still fun trying to make the most of what I have and can do now ✨

昔懐かしい曲で踊ってみた！ベリーダンスの生徒さん用に使った曲で、かつてはファンベールという華やかで大きな2つの布を使ったので、それと比べると物足りなさはあるかもしれないけど……

あるものを活用してできる最大限のことをするスタイルなので、天井のシャンデリアや後ろの植物を気にしながらもなんとか踊れた気がします😆

Is a birthday a day of destruction, and a beginning of renewal and transformation??
誕生日とは破壊からの再生、変化？（日本語は後半に）

It was my birthday yesterday(13th), and from midnight I had a terrible destruction in my immune system and suffered the whole day, to wake up today feeling quite normal as usual. What was that 😂?

Anyway, I’ve been in Spain from mid September, which is almost a month ago! How can time fly so fast?

It’s been rough, and I’ve become uncertain and started doubting many things I believed in and thought I wanted.

I’m still not sure if I’m just burnt out because of the intense few months I’ve spent, or facing some kind of transition in life… And I like to say “transition” because it sounds nice (way nicer than saying midlife crisis for sure 🙂‍↔️)

Either way, I probably needed to pause for a while, and I’m trying to accept and embrace this very uncomfortable situation for me. I’m so bad at stopping some people told me I’m a tuna lol 🐟

Where am I heading to? Like literally, am I staying in Spain until I have a clear answer? Going back to Ubud is in a way easy, but somehow it doesn’t seem like the solution now. I can entertain and distract myself easily there, and that’s not going to solve things…

All in all, I am blessed for being alive in such an uncertain and chaotic world, and maybe that’s enough for now. I’ll find a way again soon, and one day I’ll be looking back on the days I spent with the lovely people, cats and cows in Cantabria 😉

自分の誕生日を迎えた深夜に大変なお腹の状態に見舞われ、そのまま数年ぶりかの熱で当日はまるまるダウン。翌日起きたら幸いにも回復していました😅

そんな私はスペインに到着してからもうすぐ1ヶ月が経つという驚きの事態を迎え、今はスペインの谷底にある田舎の村になぜか住んでいる笑　そして一体いつまでいるんだろう？？

この1ヶ月は精神的にけっこう過酷で、これまで自分が良い・好きと思っていたことへの疑問が湧いてきたり、このままでいいのか？何かちがう気がする…… と立ち止まることを余儀なくされている。

数ヶ月間ひたすら突き進んできたから燃え尽きてしまい、休息が必要なだけなのか、また何か転換期を迎えているのか？

とにかく辛いけど少しゆっくりする必要があるのだなと、この状況を受け入れようと日々過ごしている。（止まれないマグロみたいだよねーと人に言われた笑）

こんな混沌とした世の中で生きているだけで丸もうけなんだよなと、この生をありがたく受け止める、そんな誕生日があってもいいのかなと思う。

そして振り返ったときに、今いる小さなコミュニティの愉快な人たちと猫、牛などとの暮らしを愛おしく思うのだろう🐈🐂

Totnes is another place I’ve been hearing about for a couple of years, and finally had the chance to go this September! So this is where the “transition town” movement started, but what is that??

“in 2006 Totnes became the first ‘transition town’ which refers to grassroot community projects that aim to increase self-sufficiency to reduce the potential effects of oil production, climate destruction and economic instability.”

I heard how this town has gone through changes over the years, but at least these pics should show a bit of how it is now.

I did feel some similarity with my hometown Kamakura, and the characteristics that I tend to be intrigued to. The best part for me were the coffee shops and the local market 😍

ここ数年でずっと話に聞いていたトランジションタウンという草の根活動、そしてその始まりの地であるトットネスへ！

そもそもそれってどんな目的で始まったのか調べてみると

「2006年にトットネスは、石油生産、気候破壊、経済不安定の潜在的影響を軽減するために自給自足を高めることを目指す草の根コミュニティプロジェクトを指す最初の『トランジションタウン』になりました。」

とあった。

約20年の間で街の様子もだいぶ変わったと聞いたけど、とにかく今の姿は写真のような場所。私の地元と言える鎌倉に似たバイブスもあり、私が惹かれる点ってやっぱりこういうところだよねーと再確認。

カフェとマーケットが楽しかったなぁ！そして街中で知人と遭遇するところが鎌倉と同じ😝

Schumacher Wild and the lovely people ☺️🫶🌿

Although Schumacher College has changed its form since last year and going through a big transition, for me it was a great opportunity to see and understand the essence and spirit of it.

I went as a co-organizer of the program for our Japanese group, plus doing massages during the actual days which were hyper demanding and a lot of pressure…

I couldn’t be in the sessions as a participant that much, and I even thought I might collapse during the program. But thanks to this amazing group of people with such warm energy, I felt supported by each and every one of them ✨

It was a very difficult role to play, but grateful for being a part of this learning & unlearning journey!

今回私にとっては初の、そしてようやく叶ったシューマッハカレッジ。（現在は大きな転換期にあり、「シューマッハワイルド」になっています）

と言っても参加者としてではなく、企画者の1人として、さらに現地では通訳＆解説のソーヤー海のメンテナンス担当で、相当な重圧だった。

振り返ってみても、毎回のセッション内容は正直言ってあまり残っていない。それどころではなく、自身のウェルビーイングを保つので精一杯だった気がする。

でも！こうして写真を見ていると、みんなと過ごした毎日の瞬間瞬間が宝のようで、ここで出会えてともに時間を過ごせたことが何よりのギフトだなと思う☺️

いつかどこかで再会できる日を楽しみにしています！
